So I'll be studying at Tel Aviv University (In Tel Aviv, Israel... obviously), from January 26th to June 8th. That's 19 weeks or 133 days, whichever you prefer. Tel Aviv University (TAU) has a student population of 29,000, making it Israel's largest university. If anyone was wondering, I didn't apply through my school or another program or anything, just as an individual to the school itself. TAU has an engineering school, architecture school, business school...you get the idea. I'll be at the school for overseas students. But our dorms aren't seperate, I'll be living among TAU students, not just with other overseas students. Actually,I found out today that I will be living in
Brodetsky dorm (its one of the two buildings I spray-painted red, not sure which one. I'll be in a quad of two doubles with a living area and kitchen. I'm not sure if my roommates are abroad students are not. I'll have no meal-plan so will fend for myself which I'm psyched about.
I'm not sure what to expect of my first month at TAU. You see, the academic semester doesn't even begin until March 1st. From January 28th-February 28th there is a mandatory intensive Hebrew training program. Then classes start on March 1st and its like normal school until June 4th. I better not be bogged down in Hebrew studies that first month. I'm really not sure how intense it is going to be. I started learning Hebrew so that I will, hopefully, be at least one step ahead of the program so I can go out a the first week or two. My classes are of course taught in English, but the rest of the school teaches in Hebrew.
